Draft for the private pilot — placeholders in brackets must be completed before launch.
Terms of use
Last updated 19 September 2026.
These terms apply when you use DadMode, including the coach in Telegram, the dashboard and the website. Please read them together with our privacy notice. By using DadMode you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
DadMode is provided by [TRADING NAME] ([COMPANY NUMBER IF ANY]), [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
2. Who can use DadMode
You must be 18 or over and live in the UK. During the private pilot you also need a valid invite. You are responsible for keeping your Telegram account, dashboard login and health import key secure.
3. What DadMode is, and what it is not
DadMode is an AI coach that gives general training and nutrition guidance, adapted to what you tell it about your goals, schedule and circumstances.
DadMode is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is not a doctor, physiotherapist, dietitian or mental health professional, and it does not replace one. Do not use DadMode:
- if you have, or think you may have, an eating disorder;
- for exercise or nutrition during pregnancy or after giving birth;
- to manage an acute injury, or a medical condition or medication that needs clinical advice; or
- for anything urgent.
In an emergency, call 999. For urgent medical help that is not an emergency, call NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk. Speak to your GP before starting a new exercise or diet programme if you have a health condition, take medication or have any doubts.
4. AI limitations and your judgement
DadMode’s replies are written by AI. They can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable for you, and the coach can misunderstand what you tell it, including voice notes and photos. Nutrition values are estimates. Health readings from wearables are device estimates, not clinical measurements.
Use your own judgement. You decide whether a suggestion suits your health, ability and circumstances. Stop exercising and get help if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, breathlessness or anything that feels unsafe.
An automated safety check may stop the coach answering some topics and point you to other help instead. This is deliberate.
5. The private pilot
DadMode is a paid membership. Founding pilot members on their own API key or a complimentary membership are not charged. It is an early version of the service, so features may change, stop working or be removed, and the service may be unavailable at times. We may change or end the pilot at any time. We will try to give you notice in Telegram, and you can download your data from the dashboard before it ends.
6. Membership and payment
DadMode is a paid monthly membership, taken through our payment provider, Stripe. You are only charged if you start a membership. Founding pilot members on their own API key or a complimentary membership are not charged.
- Price: £12 per month, including VAT where applicable. We show the price, and any free trial, before you pay.
- Free trial: new members may get a free trial (currently 7 days), once per person. Coaching starts straight away. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you do not cancel, the membership continues as a paid membership and the first payment is taken when the trial ends.
- Tester discount codes: tester discount codes may reduce the price. The discount lasts as stated at checkout; after that, the normal price applies unless we tell you otherwise.
- Renewal: your membership renews automatically each month, and Stripe charges your payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time by sending
/billingin Telegram and using the secure Stripe billing portal, or by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (or at the end of the free trial), and you keep access until then. - Your 14-day right to cancel: under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you can cancel a new membership within 14 days of the day you start it (the first day of any free trial), without giving a reason. When you start, we ask you to confirm that you want coaching to start straight away. If you cancel during the free trial, nothing is charged. If you cancel after a payment but still within the 14 days, we refund what you paid, minus a proportionate amount for the paid coaching provided up to when you told us you were cancelling. If the service has been provided in full within the 14 days, you lose the right to cancel. You will have agreed to this when you asked for coaching to start straight away. To cancel, email [CONTACT EMAIL] or use the billing portal. We will refund you within 14 days of your request, using the payment method you used.
- Refunds: outside the 14-day cancellation period, payments already made are not refundable, except where the law requires (for example, if the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill) or where we choose to give a refund.
- Price changes: we will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price change. The new price applies from your next billing period after the notice ends. If you do not want to pay it, you can cancel before then.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails, coaching may be paused until it is paid.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- share your pilot invite code, or let anyone else use your account;
- abuse, harass or threaten anyone, or use DadMode for anything unlawful or harmful;
- try to get at other users’ data, the system instructions or anything you are not meant to access;
- try to get around the safety checks, usage limits or security controls;
- overload, disrupt, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the service; or
- upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is illegal or sexually explicit.
8. Your content
You own what you send to DadMode. You give us permission to store, process and send it to our service providers as far as we need to run and improve the service, as described in our privacy notice. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for approved general coaching lessons, which contain no personal information.
Health and medical information is special category data. We only use it with your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. Our privacy notice explains how.
9. Our content
DadMode, including its name, logo, website, software and coaching materials, belongs to us or our licensors. You can use the coaching you receive for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy or reuse the service itself.
10. Suspending or ending your access
You can stop using DadMode at any time and delete your data from the dashboard or with /delete_me confirm in Telegram. Deleting your data also cancels any subscription straight away, with no further payments, and deletes your customer record at Stripe. If we cannot reach Stripe to cancel it, nothing is deleted and you can try again.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we need to for safety, security or legal reasons, or if we close the service. Unless there is a serious breach or an urgent reason, we will give you reasonable notice. If we end a paid subscription for a reason other than your breach, we will refund any payment for the period you have not received.
11. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Otherwise:
- we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable;
- DadMode is for personal use only. We are not responsible for any loss of profit, business, business opportunity or income; and
- our total liability to you in connection with DadMode is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the loss, or £100.
Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected. For more information, contact Citizens Advice.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes to the service or the law. We will tell you about important changes in Telegram or the dashboard before they take effect. If you have a subscription and do not accept a change that affects you, you can cancel before it takes effect.
13. Complaints
If something goes wrong, please email [CONTACT EMAIL] or send /bug in Telegram. We will reply as soon as we can, and within 14 days.
14. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring proceedings in Scotland, and if you live in Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland.
