Draft for the private pilot — placeholders in brackets must be completed before launch.
Terms of use
Last updated 29 September 2026. These terms are for members in the United Kingdom. If you live in the United States, our US terms apply instead.
These terms apply when you use DadMode, including the coach in Telegram, the dashboard and the website. Please read them together with our privacy notice. By using DadMode you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
DadMode is provided by [TRADING NAME] ([COMPANY NUMBER IF ANY]), [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
2. Who can use DadMode
You must be 18 or over and live in the UK. During the private pilot you also need a valid invite. You need your own Telegram account, and using Telegram is subject to Telegram’s own terms. You are responsible for keeping your Telegram account, dashboard login, health import key and any personal access tokens secure.
3. What DadMode is, and what it is not
DadMode is an AI coach that gives general training and nutrition guidance, adapted to what you tell it about your goals, schedule and circumstances. It can also track challenges, keep a log of your meals and sessions, and send the reminders you ask for.
DadMode is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is not a doctor, physiotherapist, dietitian or mental health professional, and it does not replace one. Do not use DadMode:
- if you have, or think you may have, an eating disorder;
- for exercise or nutrition during pregnancy or after giving birth;
- to manage an acute injury, or a medical condition or medication that needs clinical advice; or
- for anything urgent.
In an emergency, call 999. For urgent medical help that is not an emergency, call NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk. If you are struggling to cope or thinking about suicide, call Samaritans free on 116 123, any time. Speak to your GP before starting a new exercise or diet programme if you have a health condition, take medication or have any doubts.
4. AI limitations and your judgement
DadMode’s replies are written by AI. They can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable for you, and the coach can misunderstand what you tell it, including voice notes, photos and documents. Nutrition values are estimates, and food database results can be wrong. Health readings from wearables are device estimates, not clinical measurements. Challenge totals and your data log are only as accurate as what the coach understood, so check them.
Use your own judgement. You decide whether a suggestion suits your health, ability and circumstances. Stop exercising and get help if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, breathlessness or anything that feels unsafe.
An automated safety check may stop the coach answering some topics and point you to other help instead. This is deliberate.
5. The private pilot
DadMode is a paid membership. Some members are not charged: a few founding pilot members who use their own OpenAI API key, and members we give a complimentary membership. We will tell you if either applies to you, and we will give you notice before it changes. The pilot is an early version of the service, so features may change, stop working or be removed, and the service may be unavailable at times. We may change or end the pilot at any time. We will try to give you notice in Telegram, and you can download your data from the dashboard before it ends.
6. Membership and payment
DadMode is a paid monthly membership, taken through our payment provider, Stripe. You are only charged if you start a membership. Founding pilot members on their own API key or a complimentary membership are not charged.
- Price: £30 per month from 1 January 2027; pilot members who join before then with code PILOT50 pay £15 per month for as long as their membership continues, including VAT where applicable. We show the price, and any free trial, before you pay. We also show how renewal works and how to cancel before you pay, and you confirm them at checkout.
- Free trial: new members may get a free trial (currently 7 days), once per person. Coaching starts straight away. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you do not cancel, the membership continues as a paid membership and the first payment is taken when the trial ends.
- Book a future start: after completing setup, you may choose a start date from three days to twelve months ahead in your dashboard or with
/subscribe YYYY-MM-DDin Telegram. Stripe securely takes your card details now, but DadMode does not charge you or begin coaching before that date. The first charge is due on the chosen date at the price and discount shown at checkout; your membership then renews monthly until you cancel. Cancel the booking before its start date in Dashboard → Membership and pay nothing. A booked start is not a free coaching trial. - Reminders: about three days before your free trial ends, we remind you in Telegram that your first payment is due, how much it is, the date it is taken, and how to cancel. While your membership continues, we remind you at least every six months, in the week before a payment, what you are paying and how to cancel. We send these between 9am and 8pm, UK time or the time zone you have set.
- Tester discount codes: tester discount codes may reduce the price. The discount lasts as stated at checkout; after that, the normal price applies unless we tell you otherwise.
- Renewal: your membership renews automatically each month, and Stripe charges your payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in Dashboard → Membership, by sending
/billingin Telegram and choosing cancel in the secure Stripe billing portal, or by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL]. You do not have to give a reason or talk to anyone. We confirm the cancellation in Telegram, saying what was cancelled and when your access ends. A future-start booking cancelled before its start ends immediately with no charge. Otherwise cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (or at the end of the free trial), and you keep access until then. You will not be charged for another membership period; any charge already due is separate. Deleting your account (section 11) also cancels straight away. - Taking a break: the dashboard offers a self-serve three-month break for active paying members. Coaching continues to the end of the period already paid for; then coaching and payment collection pause. Around the three-month mark, we remind you that your plan and history are here. The break does not end or restart billing automatically: you choose when to resume, cancel, or delete your data. Resuming after your paid period has ended starts a new billing period and may charge your saved payment method at the current plan price; we show that before you confirm.
- Your 14-day right to cancel: under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you can cancel a new membership within 14 days of entering into the contract (when you complete checkout), without giving a reason. For a future-start booking, we also let you cancel without charge at any time before your chosen start date, even if that is more than 14 days away. For coaching that starts within the statutory cancellation period, we ask you to confirm that you want it to start straight away. If you cancel during a free trial, nothing is charged. If you cancel after payment but within that period, we refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the paid coaching provided up to cancellation, where the law permits. To cancel, email [CONTACT EMAIL] or use the billing portal. We will refund you within 14 days of your request, using the payment method you used.
- After a free trial: when a free trial turns into a paid membership, you also have 14 days from that first payment to cancel. If you do, we refund the payment minus a proportionate amount for the paid days you had.
- Refunds: outside these cancellation periods, payments already made are not refundable, except where the law requires (for example, if the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill) or where we choose to give a refund.
- Price changes: we will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price change. The new price applies from your next billing period after the notice ends. If you do not want to pay it, you can cancel before then.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails, coaching may be paused until it is paid.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- share your pilot invite code, or let anyone else use your account;
- abuse, harass or threaten anyone, or use DadMode for anything unlawful or harmful;
- try to get at other users’ data, the system instructions or anything you are not meant to access;
- try to get around the safety checks, usage limits or security controls, including by hiding instructions in messages, documents or images;
- overload, disrupt, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the service; or
- upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is illegal or sexually explicit.
Fair use limits apply to AI usage, documents and images each day. If you reach one, the coach tells you and it resets the next day.
8. Your content
You own what you send to DadMode. You give us permission to store, process and send it to our service providers as far as we need to run and improve the service, as described in our privacy notice. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for approved general coaching lessons, which contain no personal information.
Health and medical information is special category data. We only use it with your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. Our privacy notice explains how.
9. Our content
DadMode, including its name, logo, website, software and coaching materials, belongs to us or our licensors. You can use the coaching you receive for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy or reuse the service itself. Images on our website are illustrations, some made with AI, not photographs of members.
10. Other services
DadMode runs through services we do not control: Telegram delivers the coach, Stripe takes payments, Google or Telegram signs you in to the dashboard, and apps such as Health Auto Export can send us your health readings. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for their availability or for what they do with data under their own terms. If you connect your own apps with a personal access token, you choose what they can see.
11. Suspending or ending your access
You can stop using DadMode at any time and delete your data from the dashboard or with /delete_me confirm in Telegram. Deleting your data also cancels any subscription straight away, with no further payments, and deletes your customer record at Stripe. If we cannot reach Stripe to cancel it, nothing is deleted and you can try again.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we need to for safety, security or legal reasons, or if we close the service. If you tell the coach you are under 18, coaching is blocked straight away; contact us and we will cancel and refund any subscription. Unless there is a serious breach or an urgent reason, we will give you reasonable notice. If we end a paid subscription for a reason other than your breach, we will refund any payment for the period you have not received.
12. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Otherwise:
- we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable;
- DadMode is for personal use only. We are not responsible for any loss of profit, business, business opportunity or income; and
- our total liability to you in connection with DadMode is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the loss, or £100.
Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected. For more information, contact Citizens Advice.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes to the service or the law. We will tell you about important changes in Telegram or the dashboard before they take effect. If you have a subscription and do not accept a change that affects you, you can cancel before it takes effect.
14. Complaints
If something goes wrong, please email [CONTACT EMAIL] or send /bug in Telegram. We will reply as soon as we can, and within 14 days.
15. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring proceedings in Scotland, and if you live in Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland. Nothing in these terms takes away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the part of the UK where you live.
16. Other important terms
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if the business is sold. We will tell you, and it will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer your membership to someone else.
- If a court decides part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Only you and we have rights under these terms.
